Second Annual Survey Aims to Highlight Best Communities for Music Education

On the heels of last year's highly successful effort, AMC has once again teamed up with NAMM-International Music Products Association, the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the National School Boards Association (NSBA) and other supporting partners to conduct a nationwide Internet survey of local music education programs.

The "Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America" survey, which participants completed online at www.amc-music.org, uses a variety of economic, demographic and program data gathered from participants like you to rate the music education opportunities in each U.S. school district, in a way that accounts for differences in population size and degree of affluence.

As with last year's inaugural survey, the communities that make the top 100 will receive public recognition of their excellence in the national media. Perhaps more importantly, the data the survey collects will help provide an accurate "snapshot" of the current state of music education that will be invaluable to educators and policymakers everywhere.

Groups providing additional support to the survey effort are Yamaha Corporation of America, VH1 Save the Music and Perseus Development Corporation. View survey results.
